The Tale Of Two Hotels

When I think back to 2015 when Shiva first briefed me on the development of two new London based luxury hotels I couldn’t quite believe what an incredible opportunity we’d landed for our team – 6 years later, having surpassed the most challenging 18 months, it was a real honour to take the team back to one of these hotels to celebrate their hard work and efforts.

The Guardsman and Middle Eight hotels are two very unique properties with two very different stories to tell. Whilst Middle Eight is inspired by it’s locations links to the music industry as well as focusing heavily on sustainability, The Guardsman celebrates all things British and elegantly fuses old and new to create a private members style, boutique hotel experience.

Our hospitality team worked relentlessly to ensure that no stone was left un-turned throughout the strategy, design and delivery stages of these two hotels. Going as far as hand-selecting each piece of artwork that adorns the walls and carefully dressing the shelves to make it feel like home.

Projects of this scale deserve to be recognised and so I am delighted to let you know that the second round of voting has re-opened for the Design Et Al International Hotel & Property Awards and we have been shortlisted in six categories:

  • Hotel Under 200 Rooms Europe (Middle Eight)

  • Hotel Under 200 Rooms Global (The Guardsman)

  • Hotel Suite Europe Award (Middle Eight)

  • Bar/Club/Lounge Global Award (The Guardsman)

  • Restaurant Within a Hotel Europe Award (Middle Eight)

  • Bar/Club/ Lounge Europe Award (Middle Eight)

Thank you to those of you who have already voted, for those that haven’t you’ve still got time. Simply visit https://www.thedesignawards.co.uk/ihp-voting/  and look out for The Guardsman and Middle Eight in the above categories.
