Café Spice Namaste

Café Spice Namaste is what we would describe as a project close to our hearts for so many reasons.

Cyrus and Pervin Todiwala are long standing friends of Tonik’s so when we learnt that they were about to relocate to a new premises, we were delighted to offer to lend a hand. Little did we know at that stage what an exiting and innovative project this was going to be until we caught up with the Todiwala’s son; Jamsheed. Jam’s a creative craftsman with a passion for sustainability and repurposing, his goal with the new Café Spice Namaste site was simple; to reuse and up-cycle as much as they could whilst maintaining a strong identity for the new restaurant.

Tonik worked with Jam to identify a colour pallet and identity route for the venue, source and introduce him to suppliers and contractors who would help bring it all together, design the new logo and graphics, and advise on the finishing touches that made the venue look complete.

Stand out design features include the bar which has been made using recycled wooden pallets, paired beautifully with patterned tiles and an attractive back bar. The space really catches the eye as you walk by.

The mirror wall was put in place during the final stages to further lift the area and provides an Instagrammable moment in the bar. And the green wall and plants that have been introduced really make the venue feel cosy and homely, which is exactly what this family run business is all about.

Not only has the restaurant been completely re-designed, but Mr Todiwala’s cooking school also moved to the same site, just upstairs.

Mr Todiwala's Academy offers rare master classes where, within a relaxed, intimate teaching environment, chefs at the top of their game share their secrets on a range of relevant topics, from how to create time-honoured recipes to honing complex cooking techniques

Now situated at the edge of Royal Albert Wharf in the famous Docklands, we are really excited to see what the Todiwala’s have in store and are delighted to see this project come together.
